Dear Au pairs, We are the Cole family. My name is David, my wife is Anna and our sons are Thomas and Harry. Ideally, we are looking for au pair couple (ie a boy and a girl) to help look after Thomas, Harry and our house and garden. However, we would be willing to consider single au pairs. Our preference would be for a couple that would be willing to stay with us for at least 6 months starting the beginning of June 2010. Thomas is 5 years old and Harry is about 20 months. We need trustworthy people who can take Thomas to and from school and look after and play with him when he gets home. He is a very happy little boy who loves to play in our large garden and inside with his many toys. We also need someone who can help him with his homework. Harry goes to a childminder from 9am to 4pm each week day but our au pairs will need to take him and collect him and then look after him until about 6pm.

We also need help with the housework and to do some work in the garden and some basic DIY jobs around the house. Therefore we would like a couple that is flexible and hard working and willing to work inside and outside.

Anna and I are both lawyers. Anna works locally near to our home. I work for a French company but work from home. I often have to travel abroad.

We live in a large house in a village called Lydiard Millicent which overlooks some beautiful countryside (http://www.lydiard-millicent.org.uk/home.html ). The nearest large town is Swindon which is 4 miles away. We are also not far away from beautiful cities, such as Oxford and Bath.

The au pair couple that comes to stay with us will have their own separate bedroom, bathroom and living room on the top floor of the house but will be encouraged to treat the whole house as their home. We will also provide a car for them.

We have been very fortunate to have had some great au pairs in the past from the Czech Republic and France. We have always had au pair couples in the past except for our current au pair, Arnaud, a single boy from France. Arnaud is fantastic but unfortunately he will be returning home at the beginning of June. We will be really sorry to see him leave after nearly 1 year with us. All our au pairs have been very much part of our family. If you wish, we are sure that Arnaud would be willing to talk to you about his time with us.
